Intermission

March 12, 2018 8 Comments

It’s been a few rough days, our dog of 15 years died on Saturday. I am giving myself the week off to regroup and marvel at the connection that one can establish to animals. Back in my normal business of cultural musing, political debate and critical lament next Monday!

Heartfelt sympathy, Friderike! Hope you have a comforting, restorative “Shiva.”

Your daily reports are always food (the breakfast kind) for thought and a good reminder to look and register my surroundings. I hope your intermission brings a clean, complete overhaul. I know about losing animal friends. Peace and comfort.

Hi, Friderike– My deepest sympathies, I know how hard it is to lose a beloved companion and friend you have bonded with over many years. Best wishes, Mike

I’m certain you’ll get many comments on this “non-post” as it comes close to the hearts of so many whose lives have been so positively impacted by animals, perhaps colleagues is a better term. We lost our pair of “shelter mutt” black lab mix sisters last year and have decided with great sorrow not to have any more. We are older, our children live very far away, and frankly I’m not sure I can bear another loss like that if it can be avoided. So I share your grief; I think of our girls daily and miss them terribly. My best to you at this difficult time.

Now sweet Boaz is at peace. Does Milo miss him? He will help you over your grief. My thoughts are with you and the whole family. Much love, Renate
